Change Manager at Zephyr Rail
Zephyr Rail, a celebrated name in the railroad design and Construction Management industry, is seeking an experienced Change Manager with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Change Management, Claim Analysis, Contract Administration, or Contract Management within the rail, transit, and transportation sectors. The ideal candidate will play a key role in construction means and methods, project controls, and industry-standard contract forms.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate issue briefs and gather supporting documentation related to proposed changes and claims.
- Interpret and enforce contractual obligations, performance requirements, and key terms in accordance with contract provisions.
- Maintain issue and risk logs to proactively track and manage potential issues and claims.
- Evaluate entitlement and merit of change orders, time impacts, and cost claims; conduct forensic analysis to determine root cause and defensibility.
- Prepare project correspondences and memos.
- Coordinate closely with scheduling, estimating, and engineering teams to support CPM schedule analysis, delay claims, and cost justifications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing construction claims, contract administration, or dispute resolution on large infrastructure or transportation projects.
- Experience preparing claim documentation and leading negotiations with contractors and third parties.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- In-depth understanding of construction means and methods, project controls, and industry-standard contract forms.
- Strong writing and analytical skills with the ability to prepare formal findings, reports, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with project teams, contractors, and client stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with contract management platforms and Primavera P6.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Project Controls, P3 or P6 schedule analysis, productivity assessments, and forensic delay analysis.
- Experience working on high-profile, complex infrastructure programs such as high-speed rail, heavy civil, or major transportation projects.
- Legal training or certification in construction law, dispute resolution, or contract management is a plus.
- Experience in claims and dispute resolution, including mediation, dispute review boards, expert witness, arbitration, and litigation.
Salary Range: $140,000 - $200,000/annually
