Job Purpose

National Roofing is searching for a Boom Crane Operator. The Boom Crane Operator plays a critical role in the organization to drive business growth and operational efficiency. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate crane equipment to lift and move heavy roofing materials, such as shingles, tiles, and metal panels, to various locations on job sites.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating the crane to ensure the safety of personnel and property.
  • Inspect crane equipment regularly to ensure it is in proper working condition and report any issues or malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Coordinate with roofing crew members to determine the best placement and timing for material deliveries using the crane.
  • Adhere to project schedules and timelines by efficiently and effectively completing material handling tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate crane operations with other activities on the job site.
  • Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including material deliveries and equipment usage, to support project documentation and reporting
  • Assist with general site maintenance and cleanup as needed to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Participate in training and certification programs to continuously improve skills and stay updated on industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with other crane operators and team members to optimize crane utilization and productivity across multiple job sites.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certification from NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and CDL (if required for crane transport).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating boom or mobile cranes.
  • Knowledge of crane capacities, load limits, and lift dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and crane operation regulations.
  • Physical ability to work in demanding outdoor environments and lift heavy objects.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-hire criminal background check & drug screening.
