Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA)
Location: Alpharetta, GA
Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dental team. This role enhances efficiency in the operatory by performing advanced chairside and restorative functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Place and finish restorative fillings after dentist preparation
- Fabricate and cement temporary crowns and bridges
- Take impressions for diagnostic and restorative cases
- Assist in endodontic and prosthodontic procedures
- Perform coronal polishing, fluoride applications, and sealants
- Capture and process digital radiographs
- Maintain a sterile, OSHA-compliant environment
- Provide patients with clear post-operative care instructions
- Monitor supplies and prepare procedure setups
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of clinical dental assisting experience
- Hands-on EFDA experience required
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- EFDA certification (state-required)
- X-ray certification
- CPR certification
