Location: Phoenix, AZ (Local Candidates Only)

Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Position Overview

The Arizona Secretary of State's Office (AZSOS) Information Technology Division is seeking an experienced Security System Administrator for a short term, high impact engagement. This contractor will support the deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of security systems across the organization's IT infrastructure.

This role is ideal for a hands on security professional who thrives in fast paced environments, delivers timely solutions, and collaborates closely with agency teams to strengthen system security.

Key Responsibilities Implement & Harden Security Systems

• Deploy, configure, and optimize firewalls, IDS/IPS tools, and endpoint security platforms.
• Perform system hardening across servers, endpoints, and security appliances.

Manage Identity & Access Control

• Create and administer user accounts, authentication systems, and permissions.
• Enforce Identity and Access Management (IAM) best practices and security standards.

Monitor & Respond to Security Incidents

• Review logs, alerts, and system activity to identify potential threats.
• Investigate incidents promptly and implement corrective actions.

Maintain Systems & Documentation

• Apply security patches, system updates, and configuration changes.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and deliverables.

Deliver Client Focused Solutions

• Partner with agency teams to meet security requirements within established timelines.
• Support security-related tasks associated with project or operational needs.

Required Skills & Experience

• Intune experience
• Identity and Access Management (IAM) expertise
• 3+ years of network administration experience

Preferred Skills

• Palo Alto Firewall administration
• IDS/IPS configuration and monitoring
• CrowdStrike or Tanium endpoint security experience
